The Black Arts Alliance is a multidisciplinary group that advocates for African-American arts and culture. Their mission is to advance the arts and artists, nurture emerging and veteran artistic talent, and develop new works in the performing, visual, and literary arts. As part of this mission, the Black Arts Alliance produces the NC Black Film Festival, which is a platform for African-American filmmakers to showcase their work, and for audiences to experience diverse and compelling stories from the African-American community. This year’s festival occured from Thursday, May 18, to Sunday, May 21, and featured over 40 films.
