Daniel Summers

Daniel Summers, CEO of Electronic Lab Logs, embraces Wilmington’s coastal lifestyle, family-friendly vibe, and supportive business community.

Daniel and his wife met in Wrightsville Beach on vacation—Daniel was living in Raleigh at the time, his now wife was in Virginia. Once they got married, they knew they wanted to get out of the big city hustle and bustle. They were ready to start a family and wanted to be somewhere where work-life balance was a reality.

Daniel says their 15-year-old loves the coastal lifestyle. They’ve found their love for being outside and living an active lifestyle in Wilmington, whether walking the loop in Wrightsville Beach, going for a boat ride, or spending the day at the beach. Daniel’s surfing hobby turned into a fishing hobby, and now Daniel spends most of his free time diving.

“Being in Wilmington is hard to explain,” but once you experience it, you’ll want to stay here forever, just like the Summers family.

Starting your own company takes some extra effort as an entrepreneur, but Daniel says the business community in southeastern North Carolina was very supportive and full of resources to help him get his idea off the ground. Even with those ebbs and flows of free time while starting his company, Daniel said he was lucky to be in a place where he could unplug on the weekends or after work hours.

After 15 years in Wilmington, Daniel says Wilmington is truly a hidden gem in North Carolina.

“Being in Wilmington is hard to explain,” but once you experience it, you’ll want to stay here forever, just like the Summers family.
